I was born and raised in Durham, N.C. Throughout my formative years, I experimented with many different art forms from drawing, painting, photography, jewelry making and book making.

During my time attending Wesleyan University, I studied under master woodblock printer and sumi-e painter, Keiji Shinohara, who encouraged me to incorporate the spontaneous nature of ink painting with the detailed precision of drawing to create modern abstract landscapes. After graduating from Wesleyan, I moved to Guatemala City to work in an NGO running a creative expression program for at-risk youth.

Through my work teaching, I became interested and involved in the street art movement and began experimenting with aerosol paints and bright colors, incorporating this style again with abstraction and detailed brush work. After nearly four years in Guatemala City, I have recently returned to live in Durham.
