Meet Our Sponsor: K2 Challenge
About the K2 Challenge
The Krispy Kreme Challenge started in December 2004 as a dare between a few undergraduate students N.C. State University. Word of the zany event soon spread, and after receiving positive coverage from campus newspapers, the Krispy Kreme Challenge placed 85th on the “102 More Things You Gotta Do Before You Graduate” list by Sports Illustrated.
Student organizers decided to publicize the Krispy Kreme Challenge and turn it into something that would not only be an event to bring together people from all over the country but also benefit an important cause along the way: N.C. Children’s Hospital.
Challenge participants run two miles from the N.C. State Belltower to the Krispy Kreme Doughnuts store on Peace Street in Raleigh, eat a dozen doughnuts, and then run two miles back to the Belltower—all in less than an hour. The 2013 race is scheduled for February 4.
